About
the Teachers
Patricia
Kyritsi Howell, RH (AHG) is a clinical herbalist, author
and teacher. In her classes, lectures and practice, she combines
fifteen years as a practitioner and a solid background in the therapeutic
use of herbs with an innate understanding of the energetic patterns
that contribute to health and wellness.
Patricia has introduced herbalism to thousands of people in the United States and Europe. She has presented her innovative work in venues such as the International Congress of Ethnobiology; Emory University School of Medicine; The University of Georgia School of Pharmacy; Atlanta Botanical Garden; Georgia Holistic Veterinary Medicine Association; the International Herb Association; Georgia Master Gardeners Annual Meeting; Highlands, North Carolina Biological Station; State Botanical Garden of Georgia; American Herbalists Guild; and others.
Patricia is author of Medicinal Plants of the Southern Appalachians (2006). Since 1995, she has been a professional member of the American Herbalists Guild. She is chair of the annual Southern Medicinal Plants Symposium at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, co-founder of the Georgia Herbalists Guild, and former president of Georgia Organics. Patricia lives in Rabun County, Georgia and on the Greek island of Crete.
Joie
Power, PhD is a retired neropsychologist and former Assistant Professor
of Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Georgia. She has twenty
years of clinical experience in both in-patient and out-patient
medical settings and has undertaken extensive studies in aromatherapy,
herbalism and other alternative healing practices. Joie is the founder
and owner of Dreaming Earth Botanicals (www.dreamingearth.com), an internet-based company that sells essential oils, therapeutic
oil blends and other aromatherapy products. She lives near Asheville,
NC.
