“I believe that your classes are the best overall introduction to the use of herbs that I have seen. The information is clear, up-to-date and presented in a way that makes it easy to learn. The energetic and spiritual aspects of the herbs are covered, as well as down-to-earth research about the practical use of herbs in the health care setting.”

BotanoLogos*

is the northeast Georgia herb school that specializes in teaching about Southern Appalachian medicinal herbs and their therapeutic uses.

Our programs immerse you in the region’s rich botanical diversity through weekend retreats, seminars, day hikes and a ten-month herbal studies certification program.

Field studies introduce you to native plants in their wild habitats. Clear, up-to-date classroom lectures give you the information about herbal therapeutics and the confidence you need to use herbs safely and effectively.

At BotanoLogos, we’re inspired by our belief that all healing springs from a deep experience and understanding of the earth’s rhythms. Our mission is to help you deepen your relationship with plants and to encourage you to live in a more ecologically sound way.

Most programs are led by Patricia Kyritsi Howell, Registered Herbalist (AHG), author of Medicinal Plants of the Southern Appalachians (2006). Patricia is the founder and director of BotanoLogos as well as a well-known speaker who offers lively, informative lectures or seminars for groups interested in native plants, herbal healing and other topics. She also provides professional supervision for medical professionals, mentoring for student herbalists and herb programs for children of all ages.

BotanoLogos is located in the lush, botanically diverse mountains of northeast Georgia (USA) in Rabun County, 100 miles northeast of midtown Atlanta, and 90 miles southwest of Asheville, NC.

Our sister company, Wild Crete, offers spring travel seminars to the Greek Island of Crete. Join us in Greece, May 5 to May 13, 2008 for Wild Crete: Herbs, Wildflowers and Traditional Cuisine – a Plant Lover’s Tour of Crete.
